Volunteers are essential in fulfilling our mission, from garden support to creating excellence at various special events and program facilitation. Some regular volunteer opportunities for non-members can include helping with site mowing, common area weeding, hose maintenance, shed cleaning & organization, gardener plot assistance, food donation, opening and closing day activities, garden site gatherings, and more.

You can also be an important part of Project Grow's annual events by volunteering at the Project Grow Seed Share, the annual Plant Sale, the New Gardener Shindig, and the Tomato Tasting.

While our member handbook has included language about work parties and volunteer hours for years, 2026 is the first time we are documenting, communicating, and tracking a specific minimum number of service hours from all member gardeners. (That’s YOU!)

As a local, non-profit organization with a small budget, we rely on our gardeners not only to actively manage their individual garden plots, but also to support the larger needs of Project Grow. Formalizing this long-standing expectation has several goals.
