As a non profit organization with a very small staff, Project Grow also has an ongoing need in the following areas. Please check any where you may be able to offer volunteer assistance:
| Events: Assist in planning and organizing money-making, educational and community awareness events for Project Grow. |
Fundraising & Grant-writing: Assist Project Grow's staff and Board in planning and undertaking strategies to ensure Project Grow's financial stability. |
| Food Bank Coordinator: Organize gleaning of surplus garden produce for contribution to Food Gatherers or other organizations, who will distribute produce to those in need (you will be contacted in June or July). |
Education: Work with or be part of Project Grow's Education Committee, write a gardening information article, or teach a class. Classes are held on Saturday mornings from 10:00 to Noon. Project Grow provides materials and assistance for all classes. This is a great opportunity for Master Gardeners and Organic Gardener Certificate volunteers! |
| Office Skills: Support Project Grow staff by aiding with data entry, mailings, filing etc. |
Theme Gardens: Individuals and small groups can "adopt" one of our many unique theme gardens: ABC, Three Sisters Garden, Water Garden, Structure Garden, Native Plant, Pizza, Peter Rabbit, Rock Garden, Herb Gardens, Butterfly and Hummingbird Gardens, and Shade Garden! Volunteers can design, plant, tend, identify and label plants in the garden. |
| Compost Education Center: Maintain compost area and share composting knowledge with visitors on an informal and scheduled basis. |
Wonder Sprouts: This is a hands-on summer gardening program for elementary age kids. Volunteers are needed to help plan and implement gardening lessons/activities and assist kids with small garden plots. Program meets from June through August on Wednesday evenings, from 5-7pm.. |
| Wise Roots: This program provides raised garden beds and volunteer assistance for seniors. Volunteers assist seniors as needed and also help with general garden maintenance. There are also opportunities to speak about a specific garden topic at the monthly potlucks. Program meets on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 7 p.m. |
Marketing: Help us develop and carry out a marketing campaign that will publicize gardening opportunities provided by Project Grow, attract volunteers to
support our mission, encourage donations to ensure our financial stability. |
Newsletter: Contribute to our monthly electronic newsletter. Photos and interviews with community gardeners are welcome! |
